Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
Footy Analyser ("we", "us", "our") provides AI-powered football match analysis and predictions at footyanalyser.com. We are established in Guernsey and act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at privacy@footyanalyser.com.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign up or log in, authentication is handled by our identity provider, Auth0. We receive and store the following details from your Auth0 profile:
- Email address
- Display name, first name and last name (where provided)
- Profile picture URL (where provided)
- A unique account identifier
- The date your account was created and the date you last logged in
We never see or store your password. If you sign in through a social provider (such as Google), your credentials are handled entirely by Auth0 and that provider.
Technical information
Like most websites, our servers automatically record limited technical information when you use the service, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and any errors that occur. This information is held in server logs used for security, troubleshooting and keeping the service running reliably.
Payment information
If you purchase a paid subscription, payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. Your full card details are entered directly with that provider and never touch our servers. We keep only the information needed to manage your subscription, such as your plan, billing status and renewal dates.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and sign you in securely
- To provide predictions, league tables and the other features of the service
- To manage your subscription and billing, where applicable
- To send you service-related messages, such as important changes to your account
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse
- To diagnose problems and improve the service
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017 and, where applicable to users in the UK and EU, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. Our legal bases are:
- Contract — to provide the service you signed up for
- Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain and improve the service
- Legal obligation — where we are required to keep or disclose information
- Consent — where we ask for it specifically; you can withdraw it at any time
5. Who We Share Data With
We share personal data only with the service providers we need to run the platform:
- Auth0 (Okta) — our authentication provider, which manages sign-up, login and credential storage
- Hosting providers — our application and database are hosted on servers located in the European Union
- Payment providers — where you purchase a subscription, as described above
These providers process data on our behalf under their own contractual and security obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law.
6. Cookies
We use only essential cookies — the ones the site cannot work without:
- An authentication cookie that keeps you signed in
- Security cookies that protect forms and your session against forgery
We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, they do not require consent, but you can clear or block them in your browser settings — parts of the site that require sign-in will stop working if you do.
7. Data Retention
- Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete it, we remove your personal data unless we are legally required to keep it.
- Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymised.
- Billing records are kept for as long as required by accounting and tax law.
8. International Transfers
Our services are hosted in the European Union. Guernsey is recognised by the EU as providing an adequate level of data protection, which allows data to move between Guernsey, the UK and the EU. Where a provider such as Auth0 processes data outside these areas, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
9. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Have your data deleted
- Restrict or object to how we process your data
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@footyanalyser.com. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in Guernsey, the Office of the Data Protection Authority (odpa.gg); in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
10. Children
Footy Analyser is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change significantly affects you, notify you by email or through the service. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect means the updated policy applies to you.
